Customised flat tops for Singapore

14 March 2019

Singapore-based tower crane sales and rental company Crane World Asia is expanding its fleet with 15 tower cranes customised for the Singapore market. The cranes are the CTT 541-24 flat top made by Terex Cranes.

Changes were made to the cranes so that they adhered to Singapore’s oversailing regulations. They have a compact 16.5 metre counterjib and a maximum jib length of 55 m. The crane’s maximum freestanding height is 40 m to also comply with local regulations.

According to Terex, the crane’s load chart was engineered with input from Crane World Asia to lift prefabricated units weighing up to 22 tonnes. Terex also designed the CTT 541-24 to use H20 masts instead of HD23 masts because many Singapore companies already have the smaller sized masts in their equipment inventory. ”It is attention to details like this that helps reduce our expenses,” commented Roger Poon, director at Crane World Asia. “We don’t have to invest in new mast sections to utilise these new cranes. The team at Terex listen to their distributors and customers’ needs and are willing to produce customised equipment to meet them.”
