Carlton Group acquires Crews Crane Training International

Carlton Group has acquired Crews Crane Training International Inc. (CCTI) of Charlotte, N.C. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition of CCTI complements Carlton’s November 2021 acquisition of ES Inc. Hoisting Solutions. Carlton Group has the capacity to offer a comprehensive range of crane, hoist and integrated safety training and certifications, according to a press release.

“With our new acquisition we have the ability to serve our industrial customer base with an extended width of product, service and training solutions,” said Carlton Group owner Chris Trevey. “In addition to the crane and hoist design and service capabilities, we now have the ability to offer our customers application-specific and customized safety training and certifications.”

CCTI offers consultative program design services to ensure training programs address end-to-end user requirements involving federal, state and local occupational safety regulations; industry standards; quality management and company procedures. Since 1946, Carlton Group, which does business as Carlton Scale, has sold, serviced and designed multiple types of weighing instruments, scales and controls.

Joe Crews, founder of CCTI, is a U.S. Navy veteran and holds memberships in the Association of Crane and Rigging Professionals, National Safety and Health Council, American Society of Safety Engineers and Association of General Contractors.

CCTI fully endorses the national certification program offered by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operator (NCCCO), and will prepare candidates for the CCO certification examinations.
