Although he has been in the role for some time as part of a structured succession plan, his position has now been formalised.

Ekert replaces Trevor Bourne, who will remain as a director and board member of Verton technologies.

Bourne said, “Over the past year, Tim’s contribution to the business has seen growth in our internal capability and global customer base. His knowledge and experience will drive the company’s growth and international expansion strategies.”

Ekert has a double degree in engineering (manufacturing systems) and business (marketing) from the Queensland University of Technology, and has held previous leadership and executive management roles at SmartCap Technologies, Austin Engineering and Principle Industries.
