Liebherr to debut luffing jib cranes at Bauma 2022

Equipment manufacturer Liebherr is to showcase its range of cranes at Bauma 2022, including the new 10 tonne luffing jib model 258 HC-L 10/18 Fibre.

The machine, which the company says has already been tested and is ideal for particularly challenging hook heights and hoists, is part of the tower crane offering from Liebherr.

The 258 HC-L 10/18 Fibre has a 25 mm synthetic fibre hoist rope and a 60 metre maximum jib at the end of which it lifts 2.5 tonnes.

Said to have been designed specifically to make the most of the benefits of using synthetic fibre hoist ropes, the crane is the result of a collaboration between Liebherr and Austrian rope specialist Teufelberger.

Liebherr will also launch its 40 tonne capacity 1188 EC-H 40 Fibre at the show, which is the most powerful model in its range of conventional saddle jib cranes with tower heads.

The crane has an 80 metre jib which is capable of lifting 13.1 tonnes, which Liebherr says is 2 tonnes more than its steel rope version.

Two new fibre rope flat tops, the 520 EC-B 20 Fibre and the 370 EC-B 16 Fibre, will also be on show.
