Bauma 2022: rolling news on the Munich exhibition

KHL Group is providing a rolling news update for Bauma 2022 as the massive show prepares to open its doors on Monday 24 October. We will report on new products being launched and any other news relating to the show. Almost 500,000 visited Bauma  (Monday 31 October)
Bauma organiser Messe München has revealed that more than 495,000 visitors attended the show from October 24-30, with around 50% being international visitors. More information here.

Electric machines revealed by Mecalac (Thursday 27 October)
Mecalac has unveiled a range of medium-sized electric machines for urban worksites, which it says can save as much as 64 tonnes of CO2 every year. Read more here

Hitachi marks milestone at Bauma (Thursday 27 October)
Manufacturer has marked its 50th birthday at Bauma, and marked it by launching four new zero-emission excavators at the show. Read more about the Hitachi machinery on show here

Komatsu launches electric machines (Thursday 27 October)
Komatsu unveiled six electric machines at Bauma, as it continues its path to becoming a carbon neutral business by 2050. More information on the machines can be found here.

Sinoboom and Falcon Lift agree partnership (Wednesday 26 October)
Sinoboom has agreed a partnership with spider lift specialists Falcon Lifts, that will see the company increase and develop spider lift sales. Read more here. 

Kobelco launches demolition excavator (Wednesday 26 October)
Kobelco has outlined its intentions to become the number one demolition excavator manufacturer in Europe. Speaking to KHL at Bauma, managing director Makoto Kato says he believes the company are well placed to deliver the machines required in Europe. Read more here

Initiative to measure equipment use launched (Wednesday 26 October)
The Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE) has launched the Uptime Tracker programme, designed to measure equipment use. Data compiled by the programme will be collected monthly via CECE members. Find out more here. 

OEMs must come together for electric technology says Wacker Neuson’s CSO (Wednesday 26 October)

Speaking to KHL at Bauma, Alexander Greschner, Chief Sales Officer of Wacker Neuson has stated that the adoption of battery powered light equipment requires cooperation from OEMs. Read more here.

Bauma launch for ‘world’s largest’ spider lift (Wednesday 26 October)

Palazzani has presented the 58m working height TT2J58 spider lift, which it claims is the largest on offer. As the model is as yet unavailable commercially, the manufacturer anticipates a 2023 release. Read more here

Hyundai reveals concept wheeled excavator (Tuesday 25 October)
The HW155H concept wheeled excavator from Hyundai Construction Equipment has been shown to Bauma visitors. Powered by hydrogen, the machine is expected to be released commercially by 2025-26. Find out more here.

New controls for Mobilair compressor models (Tuesday 25 October)
Compressed air systems specialist Kaeser Kompressoren has updated its controls for its line of Mobilair compressor models with the launch of new operating panel. Available on three models, more information can be found here.

Plus+1 software by Danfoss (Tuesday 25 October)
Danfoss Power Solutions has unveiled the Plus+1, a software solution aimed at supporting improved machine autonomy and driver support. Learn more about the software here.

‘World’s largest’ directional drill revealed (Tuesday 25 October)
Ditch Witch has unveiled its all terrain directional drill at Bauma 2022. According to the company, the drill is the largest directional drill in the world, and comes with 533.8 kN of thrust and pullback and 21,015 Nm of rotational torque.Learn more here.

Rototilt introduces ergonomic joysticks (Tuesday 25 October)
The Rototilt Control (RC) concept product line has been expanded with the launch of new joysticks designed for use with machines fitted with tiltrotators. For more information on the joysticks, click here.

Himoinsa shows new diesel generator sets (Tuesday 25 October)
The latest battery power storage systems, light towers and gas and diesel generator sets from Himoinsa are on show at the power technology solutions company’s stand at Bauma. The full range of equipment on show can be found here.

New topless tower crane from Raimondi (Tuesday 25 October) 
The T187 topless tower crane has been unveiled by Raimondi. As well as the T187, the manufacturer is adding seven other machines to the Class 110 range. Read more here. 

AC 4.070-2 mobile crane unveiled by Tadano (Tuesday 25 October)
The new AC 4.070-2 mobile crane from Tadano has been debuted at Bauma 2022. The 70 tonne machine has a capacity of 7.1 tonnes at a 12 metre radius, or 7.3 tonnes at a 10 metre radius. Click here for more information on the machine.

New battery-electric compact excavator from Bobcat (Tuesday 25 October)
The E19e compact excavator from Bobcat has been unveiled at Bauma, as part of a number of electric machines on offer from the manufacturer. Additional information on the E19e can be found here.

Bauma debut for Faresin 17.45 electric telehandler (Tuesday 25 October)
Italian manufacturer Faresin has debuted its new series of fully electric telehandlers, including the Faresin 17.45, 14.42 and 17.40. More details on the machines, which form the ‘Big Range Full Electric’ series, can be found here.

Earthmoving equipment the focus for Topcon (Tuesday 25 October)
Topcon Positioning Systems has revealed more details on its MC-Mobile system, which it describes as a 3-in-1 solution for compact equipment. Find more details on the MC-Mobile here.

Manitowoc shows Potain MR 229 crane (Monday 24 October) 
A range of Potain luffing jib tower cranes has been shown on the Manitowoc stand, including the new MR 229. Said to be ideal for confined sites, the crane is the first in a new generation from the company. Read more here.

Locatelli launches RT cranes (Monday 24 October)
Italian crane manufacturer Locatelli has launched two new RT cranes at Bauma 2022, both of which will be made available to purchse in the coming months. More information on the machines can be found here.

Grader automation and wheel loaders from John Deere (Monday 24 October)
John Deere has exhibited a new range of grader automation technologies and advancements at Bauma, as well as its P-tier wheel loaders. Full information can be found here

New compact excavators from Takeuchi (Monday 24 October)
The TB335R, TB350R and TB395W compact excavators from manufacturer Takeuchi has been shown to Bauma visitors. More information on the excavators can be found here

Goldhofer unveils new motor blade transporter (Monday 24 October)
The new FTV 850 motor blade transporter from Goldhofer has been unveiled at the show. To see a video of the transporter in action, click here.

Concept crane shown by Wolffkran (Monday 24 October)
Crane manufacturer Wolffkran has shown its FX 21 Clear flat top crane range for the first time. The cranes are in the 140 to 200 tonne-metre class range. Read more here

First electric telehandler for XCMG (Monday 24 October)
XCMG has launched the XC6-2506E electric telescopic handler at Bauma, which it claims to be the first electric telehandler from a Chinese manufacturer. Read more here.

Alternative drive concepts shown by Liebherr (Monday 24 October)
In its InnovationLab area, Liebherr has showcased a range of its alternative drive concepts, as it aims to increase the use of zero-emission powertrains. Read more here.

A new range of electric access equipment has been launched on the Manitou stand, including two electric boom lifts and telehandlers. Read more here.

Caterpillar reveals off-highway battery prototypes (Monday 24 October)
Capterillar has unveiled three new battery prototypes for off-highway equipment on the first day at Bauma 2022, each of which use lithium-ion technology. Read more here.

Bauma opens for the first time since 2019 (Monday 24 October)

Wika launches rated capacity indicator for telehandlers (Tuesday 18 October)
US-based technology specialist Wika Mobile Control has launched its qSCALE 12 TH rated capacity indicator (RCI), and will showcase the system at the construction equipment trade fair in Germany. Find out what the RCI system can do here.

Dynapac launches first electric paver (Tuesday 18 October)
Road construction equipment specialist Dynapac is to present its first electric paver model at Bauma, as part of its Z.ERA programme to move towards machines with fossil-free drives. Find out more here.

Electric axles to feature at Bauma (Monday 17 October)
Propulsion solution specialist Allison Transmission will show new eGen Power range of fully electric axles for construction trucks in Munich this month. Compatible with many existing truck chassis, more information can about the drop-in solution can be found here.

Elevek transport platform set for Bauma debut (Monday 17 October)
The TP7 transport platform from Portugal-based manufacturer Elevek will be unveiled at Bauma 2022, with a payload of 2 tonnes and a modular cabin size from 2.2m to 3.2m. Discover more about the platform here.

Off-Highway Research to hold market briefing (Friday 14 October)
Company’s in-person briefing, to be held during Bauma, will give an update on equipment markets around the world, and discuss the continuing impacts of supply chain and transportation bottlenecks. Click here for more details.

‘Make it easier to buy electric’ (Thursday 13 October)
Giuliano Parodi, Global CEO of Yanmar Compact Equipment, speaking ahead of the company’s launch of electric machines at Bauma, said that sales of electric models would remain at modest levels until it was easier for customers to switch to electric. Read more here.

Sany to introduce telehandlers for Europe (Wednesday 12 October)
Sany’s new STH1440 and STH1840 models for the European market will be will be the first two of the company’s newly developed telehandler series, designed for the European market. Find out more here.

Bauma talk looks at impact of policy on emissions (Tuesday 11 October)
“The role of policy: an overview of the ambitious carbon-neutral goals to 2030 and 2050” will be the keynote speech for an event organised by ERA and CECE, the Committee for European Construction Equipment, during Bauma. More details here.

Doosan crawler excavator range on show (Tuesday 11 October)
Doosan is to demonstrate a range of its heavy and compact equipment at Bauma 2022, including the DX1000LC-7 100 tonne crawler excavator. Details here.

Debut for Liebherr’s battery-based energy storage system (Monday 10 October)
Liduro Power Port (LPO), the battery-based energy storage system from Liebherr, is to make an appearance at global exhibition Bauma. Find out more here.

Komatsu to showcase fully electric wheeled loader (Monday 10 October)
Komatsu, in partnership with US-based Moog Inc., has announced that they will be demonstrating a fully electric compact wheeled loader at the show. More details here.

Hybrid and fleet management launches from Bronto (Thursday 6 October)
Bronto Skylift will launch a new hybrid system at Bauma for its truck mounts. The new lithium battery-powered Hybrid Pack is designed to be a simple and cost-effective way of making large truck mounts hybrid, said the company. Learn more here.

Manitowoc to launch new tower cranes (Thursday 6 October)
Manitowoc is to launch two new tower cranes at global trade show Bauma. While the company has decided to keep details back until the show opens its doors next month, it has revealed the details of other equipment models it will be bringing to the show. Find out more here.

Hinowa to display electric spider lift (Wednesday 5 October)
Tracked platform manufacturer Hinowa will display its electric drive TeleCrawler TC22S spider lift at Bauma 2022, the manufacturer has confirmed. More details here.

Kohler will use Bauma to present its new roadmap to transform from a power systems producer to an energy supplier. More details here.

International debut for battery-powered curb machine (Monday 3 October)
Having been launched at the beginning of the year, the GOMACO CC-1200e will be shown to an international audience for the first time at Bauma. Read more here

Sany to show electric mini excavator (Monday 3 October)
Sany will be presenting its entire portfolio currently available in Europe at Bauma 2022, as well as a number of machines that will be on sale next year, including the electrically driven SY19E mini excavator. To find out more, click here.

Backhoe loaders by Hidromek set to feature (Monday 3 October)

Zero-emission excavator from Hitachi (Saturday 1 October)
Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) is to show its first zero-emission battery-powered excavator in Europe at Bauma.

The ZX55U-6EB is able to operate via 39kWh lithium-ion batteries or a wired connection to a CEE 400VAC 3-phase power source, which enables it to work whilst charging. Click here to read more.

Electric focus for XCMG (Friday 30 September)
China-based XCMG will showcase its biggest ever overseas lineup, with 39 products on show – with ten of them powered by alternative sources. For more information click here

Off-Highway Research to hold Bauma briefing (Thursday 29 September)
Off-Highway Research is to hold a briefing to give an update on equipment markets around the world. Booking is required for the event, which takes place at 10.00 am on Tuesday 25th October in Conference Room B11. Read more here

Zeppelin to represent Caterpillar (Wednesday 28 September)

Wacker Neuson is to launch the EW100 wheeled excavator at Bauma. The machine is to be unveiled alongside the WL20e compact wheeled loader. Read more here.

Grove’s latest addition to all terrain range (Monday 26 September)
Crane manufacturer Grove will be premiering the GMK6400-1 all terrain crane at Bauma, the company has said. The crane is an upgraded version of the GMK6400. Read more here.

Comansa to unveil its first hydraulic luffing jib (Sunday 25 September)
Visitors to global exhibition Bauma will get an exclusive look at the first hydraulic luffing jib crane, the LCH300, from Spanish tower crane manufacturer Comansa.

Capable of lifting loads of up to 16 tonnes, more details about the model can be found here.

Hyundai to reveal hydrogen loader (Thursday 22 September)
South Korea-based manufacturer Hyundai will reveal a concept hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered wheeled loader at Bauma in October. Read more about it here.

Caterpillar’s new electric prototypes (Thursday 22 September)
At an online press event Caterpillar announced that its construction industries division was working on four new electric equipment machines, two excavators and two wheeled loaders. Several of these machines will be on display at Bauma Munich in prototype form. More information can be found here.

Tyrolit to launch cutting and drilling tools (Thursday 22 September)
Tool manufacturer Tyrolit will showcase a variety of new products and upgrades in concrete drilling and cutting, floor grinding and digitalisation at Bauma. Find out more here.

Electric focus for Liebherr (Thursday 15 September)
Seventy machines on show will include six new ‘Unplugged’ products for piling, drilling and lifting. Read more here.

A step closer to ‘Autonomous crushing’ (Thursday 15 September)
SBM Mineral Processing will use Bauma to showcase its new REMAX 600 crusher, which it says represents the next step to autonomous crushing. The 600t/h-capacity impact crusher serves as a technology platform for the first fully automatic production monitoring and control system.

The system incorporates sensor and video technology, automatic gap adjustment, communication and IT networks. Learn more here.

Sennebogen to present battery-powered material handler (Wednesday 14 September)
Sennebogen will present its new mobile electric material handler to the public for the first time at Bauma. Jointly developed by metal recycling specialist Cronimet, the 825 Electro Battery allows for autonomous working in battery operation as well as connection to the mains. Click here to find out more.

Demarec to introduce EcoLine attachment range (Tuesday 13 September)
Demolition and recycling attachment specialist Demarec is to introduce the first of its new EcoLine range of crushers at this year’s Bauma trade fair in Munich, Germany. Find out more about the model here.

The European Rental Association (ERA) and the Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE) are to host an event on zero emissions in rental and construction as part of the Bauma Forum on 28 October. Read more here

Shortlist announced for Bauma Innovation Award (Tuesday 13 September)
The shortlist has been announce for the prestigious Bauma Innovation Awards. On the eve of Bauma, one winner will be selected in each of the following categories: Climate Protection, Digitalisation, Mechanical Engineering, Building and Research. Find out who’s made it to the shortlist here.

Doosan to launch 4x4 DA45-7 ADT (Tuesday 13 September)
The South Korea-based company has announced that it will launch its new 4x4 DA45-7 ADT at this year’s Bauma. The new machine is less than 4m wide to avoid the need for special transportation. Read more here.

Weber MT’s ‘Smart Assist’ (Tuesday 13 September)
German compaction specialist Weber MT will use Bauma to launch Weber Smart Assist (WSA), a system to prevent damage to machines and provide troubleshooting guidance. Read more here.

‘Mystery’ transport platform from Geda (Monday 12 September)
Aiming to “set new standards for the future”, Geda is to launch a new transport platform model at Bauma, that it says is characterised by new special features and an optimised load capacity. Find out more here.

German manufacturer Böcker in Germany will launch its new AK 48e at this year’s Bauma exhibition. The AK 48e is a fully electric crane and aerial work platform mounted on a 27 tonne 6 x 2 Mercedes eActros truck. For more details click here.

Bauma launch for ‘world’s highest spider lift’ (Monday 5 September)
Easy Lift is to launch what it claims is the highest spider lift in the world at the Bauma construction exhibition in Munich, Germany.

The RA53 features a double telescopic boom and jib, and has a working height of 52.4m with a maximum outreach of 20m. More information on its specifications can be found here.

Imer to launch electric mini scissor (Monday 5 September)
Italy-based manufacturer Imer is to launch its new IM 5080 mini scissor lift model at Bauma 2022. The IM 5080 machine is one of two models in the company’s new series of self-propelled electric mini scissor lifts. Read more here.

Vögele to debut road pavers (Tuesday 23 August)
Vögele is to premiere new road pavers and screens as part of its new Dash 5 generation at bauma 2022.

The Super 1900-5(i) and Super 2100-5(i) highway class pavers, and the AB 500 and AB 600 extending screens, will be among the equipment on show. Find out more here.

Bauma launch for 3.5 tonne hybrid truck mount (Friday 19 August)
Aerial platform specialist Ruthmann is to show a new 3.5-tonne Steiger truck mount at this year’s Bauma exhibition. The Steiger T 300 XS Hybrid truck mount offers a 30m working height with a maximum outreach of 23m. More details can be found here.

50-tonne electric crane from Sennebogen (Monday 15 August)
The Sennebogen 653 E Electro Battery is a 50 tonne capacity machine with a telescopic boom. It will be launched at the Bauma construction equipment exhibition in Munich, Germany, this October. To find out more about the crawler crane, click here.

Zoomlion to introduce 58m boom lift (Friday 12 August)
Among the equipment launches from Chinese access equipment manufacturers will be the new ZT58J Ultra model from Zoomlion. 

Boasting a working height of 58.8m, the telescopic boom lift is a four-wheel-drive unit that can handle rough terrain. It will be presented alongside three new lithium-battery powered MEWPS, on which more information can be found here.

Kleemann premieres Mobirex crusher (Wednesday 10 August)
German crushing and screening machine specialist Kleemann is to demonstrate its new Mobirex MR 130(i) Pro impact crusher for the first time at Bauma 2022.
