International tower crane specialist Uperio Group has announced its acquisition of fellow tower crane business LaurentKeller in France.

Uperio said the addition of LaurentKeller, based in Gerstheim, Alsace, will increase its footprint in Eastern France in line with its growth strategy.

Established in 1984, LaurentKeller SAS is a family-owned business involved in sales, rental and service of tower cranes. The fleet includes more than 45 tower cranes and there are 12 employees at Gerstheim. It is a Potain dealer for several departments in eastern France.

Expansion into Germany
In addition to strengthening its geographic footprint and competitive position in Eastern France, Uperio said there is further development potential there and also in the adjacent German region.

Philippe Cohet, Uperio CEO

Philippe Cohet, Uperio CEO, said, “LaurentKeller, with its excellent reputation and solid customer base, is a very promising addition to our group. In Uperio we are aiming high, we want to change our business profile and we are powered by people. The acquisition of LaurentKeller will help us to expand our professional and premium services offering to a larger territory. The logic of this acquisition is most compelling, especially as it brings new customers, markets and colleagues to our teams in France.”

For his part Olivier Laurent, LaurentKeller president, said, “We are very glad that our business is in good hands with Uperio. We can now be certain that the operation we have built over the years will continue in a meaningful and sustainable way.”

Uperio, which is active around the world in rental, sales, service and the manufacture of tower cranes, said integration of LaurentKeller should be complete by the end of 2022.

Philippe Cohet will be a speaker at the Tower Cranes North America conference in Miami on 21 and 22 June.
