Nooteboom launches semi low loader with wheel wells

The extendable lightweight OSDS-48-03V(EBW) semi low loader with deep wheel wells

Specialist vehicle manufacturer Nooteboom has introduced its new extendable OSDS-48-03V(EBW) semi low loader with deep wheel wells.

The new trailer model has a 4750mm extendable loading floor and features deeper wheel wells than other similar models, allowing it to carry larger pieces of construction equipment.

Part of the company’s SMART range, the semi low loader can transport wheeled loaders and articulated dump trucks weighing up to 39 tonnes, which was previously only possible on low loaders. The asymmetric shape and 30 degree inclination angle of the vehicle’s wheel wells also makes the unloading of wheeled loaders more straightforward.

In addition, Nooteboom said the wheel wells also can be closed to create a “completely flat loading floor” for the transport of other types of load.

The company said, “The position of the wheel wells also provides optimal weight distribution between the gooseneck and the axle bogie. The wheel well dimensions are suitable for all common brands and types of wheeled loader with different tyre diameters, axle distances and weights.

“For example a CAT 980K, a Doosan DL500, a Liebherr L586, a Volvo L220G, a Hitachi ZW370 or a Komatsu A500-6. These are just some examples of large and heavy wheel loaders that can be transported with this OSDS-48-03V(EBW).”

The 3-axle lightweight model has a deadweight of only 8,700kg and can travel with a maximum payload of 39 tonnes at speeds of up to 80km/h.

Suitable for transporting divisible loads, containers and tracked construction machines, the OSDS-48-03V(EBW) has an axle distance of just 2260mm between the first and second axles for maximum manoeuvrability.

The standard model comes with sliding outrigger consoles in the loading area and is available with a range of ramps, from 2.4m-long aluminium ramps to automatically hydraulic folding 5m-long ramps.

Alongside the new vehicle, a number of optional extras are also available. These include a lift axle, removable intermediate tables, toolbox on the gooseneck, ferry rings, aluminum boards, ramps, storage trays and toolboxes under the loading floor.
